Treatment and Recuperation G-1-10
A patient who plans to enter Korea for medical treatment or recuperation at a medical institution in ROK, or a caregiver (including family).
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are:
1. A foreign patient who plans to stay in the ROK for medical treatment or recuperation for 91 days or more, without being invited by an medical travel facilitator
2. A family member or a caregiver who are required to accompany a patient for assistance.
* An immediate family member for nursing or a caregiver
※ A foreign patient is allowed to be accompanied by his/her caregiver if a patient’s medical expense will be supported by a patient’s country which has signed an agreement with a hospital in ROK.
You can apply for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months.
Periods of stay for this visa will be granted initially for up to 6 months.

① Visa Application Form (Form No. 17), passport, a photo in a standard format, fee
② Documents proving your medical issues such as diagnosis, doctor’s notes issued by a Korean/foreign medical institute
③ Documents proving your reservations or doctor’s appointments in a Korean hospital or a nursing house
④ Documents proving your financial ability to afford the treatment and living expenses
⑤ Documents proving accompanying family member and care giver
※ The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are:
1. A foreign patient who desires to stay in the ROK for medical treatment or recuperation for 91 days or more, being invited by an excellent recruiting organization designated by the Minister of Justice as an e-visa application agency
* Recruiting organizations are registered as a medical travel facilitator to the Minister of Health and Welfare in accordance with the 「Medical Service Act 」
2. A family member or a caregiver who requires accompanying the patient to nurse him/her*
* An immediate family member for nursing or taking care of the foreign patient
※ A foreign patient is allowed to be accompanied by his/her caregiver, if the country of the foreign patient has made an agreement with a domestic hospital for transferring patients and supporting medical expenses.
You can apply for a multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year.
Periods of stay will be granted for up to 1 year.

② Documents proving the purpose of treatment issued by a medical institute
③ Documents proving a financial ability to afford the treatment and living expenses during the stay in ROK
※ If an inviting organization guarantees a personal identity of an applicant, you are not required to submit this document.
④ A copy of Business Registration Certificate and a copy of Certificate of Medical Travel Facilitator Registration
※ If an institute is registered at Visa Portal, you are not required to submit this document.
⑤ Documents proving an accompanying family member and a caregiver
※ If a representative is hired, he/she must submit a Power of Attorney from an applicant, his/her employment certificate and A copy of ID Card.
※ The head of Immigration Office may request for additional documents if it is deemed necessary to review the purpose of entry, validity of an invitation, and qualification of an inviting organization or an invitee.
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are:
1. A foreign patient who desires to stay in the ROK for medical treatment or recuperation for 91 days or more, on an invitation by a *medical travel facilitator
* An entity which registered as a medical institution or an agency who is permitted to invite foreign patients in accordance with the 「Medical Service Act 」
2. A family member or a caregiver who requires accompanying the patient to nurse him/her*
* An immediate family member for nursing or taking care of the foreign patient
※ A foreign patient is allowed to be accompanied by his/her caregiver, if the country of the foreign patient has made an agreement with a domestic hospital for transferring patients and supporting medical expenses.
You can apply for a multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year.
Periods of stay will be granted for up to 1 year.

② Documents proving the purpose of treatment issued by a medical institute
③ Documents proving a financial ability to afford the treatment and living expenses during the stay in ROK.
※ If a medical travel facilitator vouches for a patient, he/she does not have to submit this document.
④ A copy of Business Registration Certificate and a copy of Certificate of Medical Travel Facilitator Registration
