A parent of a foreign talent, investor, student and their spouse
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are
A parent of a person satisfying the following requirements and a parent of the person’s spouse
① (foreign talent) a Long-term News Coverage (D-5), Intra-Company Transferee (D-7), Corporate/Foreign Investor (D-8), International Trade (D-9), and from Professor (E-1) to Foreign National of Special Ability (E-7) visa holder whose annual income is twice per capita GNI of the previous year or more
– Including a person who has changed his/her status of stay to F-2, F-5, etc. while maintaining the same activities falling under the above statuses
– However, if you change your status of stay to the above statuses (D-5, D-7, D-8, D-9 or E-1 – E-7) after earning a bachelor’s degree or higher in Korea, the minimum annual income requirement is lowered to per capita GNI of the previous year or more.
② (investor) a registered foreigner who has invested 300 million KRW in Korea and stayed in the country for 6 months or more in accordance with the Foreign Investment Promotion Act, the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act and the Immigrant Investor Scheme.
③ (student) a foreign student enrolled in a master’s/doctoral program of Korea who has stayed in the country for 6 months or more
– However, if the accompanying family members including invitees are more than three, they should prove that they have at least 50% of per capita GNI of the previous year in Korea for annual living expenses in addition to tuition.
You can apply for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months. Periods of stay for this visa will be granted for up to 90 days.
① Application form for Confirmation of Visa Issuance (Form No. 21), a copy of passport, a photo in a standard format
② A copy of inviter’s Alien Registration Card, a reference letter, a statement of invitation (suggesting that the invitee would not seek a job), documents proving the place of residence
③ Documents proving family relations
※ A Marriage Certificate, a certificate on family relations or a Birth Certificate
④ Documents proving inviter’s income/invested money/living expenses
※ If you hire a representative, you must submit a power of Attorney, the proof of current employment status of your representative, and a photocopy of your representative IDs
※ The head of Immigration Office may request additional documents if it is deemed necessary to examine the purpose of entry, the genuineness of the invitation, and the qualifications of the inviter and the invitee.
