Industrial Trainee (FDI) D-3-11
A person who plans to receive a technical training at an industrial entity engaged in overseas direct investment in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are a production employee of a joint venture or an overseas subsidiary of Korean cooperation that is established in accordance with the employee’s country law and has been running for at least 3 months, is deemed to be unable to acquire required skills in his/her country and is required to receive a job training.
[Trainee Requirements]
1. A healthy person aged between 18 and 40
2. More than 3 months of working experience at the Korean subsidiary
3. Acquiring second-level or higher, or score of 50 out of 200 on TOPIK (excluding those who have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Korea, or plan to receive training at the corporation that has signed the pledge to implement Korean language education of 5 hours or more a month as well as dispatches a full-time translator for every 100 trainees)
You can apply for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months.
Periods of stay will be granted for up to 6 months.

1. Application form for Confirmation of Visa Issuance (Form No. 21), a copy of passport, a photo in a standard format
2. Documents proving an invitee has met requirements for being an industrial trainee
① A copy of Business Registration Certificate of a branch office located in an applicant’s country (or a charter)
② Invitee’s Employment Certificate issued by the head of a branch office and a copy of passport.
③ Documents proving sufficiency in Korean
※ if there is a Korean diplomatic mission in an applicant’s country, ① and ② need to be authenticated by consular officers
3. A training course plan confirming the details of training schedule. (refer to Archive)
4. A letter of guarantee from inviter
5. Documents proving the host company is a permitted corporation recognized as Foreign Direct Investment Business
– Foreign Direct Investment Declaration (an original document or a copy stamped by a public official)
– when making investment in cash, a receipt or confirmation of wire transfer (an original document or a copy stamped by a bank)
– when making investment in kind, a confirmation of an export permit issued by the customs
※ If a representative is hired, he/she must submit a Power of Attorney from an applicant, his/her employment certificate and A copy of ID Card.
※ The head of Immigration Office may request for additional documents if it is deemed necessary to review the purpose of entry, validity of an invitation, and qualification of an inviting organization or an invitee.
