Visiting employment through invitation from a close relative H-2-1
A foreign national of Korean descent aged 25 or older, in accordance with the Act on the Immigration and Legal Status of Overseas Koreans, who falls under any of the following categories:
- A person who was a national of the Republic of Korea at the time of birth and is registered in the Korean family relation register, closed register, or removed register.
- A person whose one parent or one grandparent held the nationality of the Republic of Korea.
- A person who has been invited by a national of the Republic of Korea residing in Korea or by a person who has acquired permanent residence status (F-5-7) after meeting the requirements for nationality acquisition under the Nationality Act. (The inviter must be a blood relative within eight degrees of kinship or an in-law within four degrees of kinship of the invitee.)
- A person who is recognized as a “national merit recipient and his/her bereaved family, etc.” under the Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Services to the State, or as an “independence merit recipient and his/her bereaved family or relatives” under the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Independence Merit Recipients.
- A person who has rendered distinguished service to the Republic of Korea or contributed to the promotion of the national interest of the Republic of Korea.
