Marriage immigrants’ parents, siblings, or children from a previous marriage residing in the home country of the immigrant

Eligibility criteria for application

You are eligible to apply for this visa if you:

– Are the father, mother, sibling, or child from a previous marriage of a marriage immigrant, and residing in the immigrant”s home country,
– Intend to provide child-raising support (including pregnancy and birth) to the family of the marriage immigrant, or intend to stay with the family to provide humanitarian support (caring for critical illness or disability), and
– Meet the requirements for the invitee, and the marriage immigrant also meets the requirement for the inviter, as detailed in the Guidelines for Issuing Visas to Parents and Other Family Members of Marriage Immigrants (F-1-5).

Visa Type

You can apply for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months.
Periods of stay will be granted for up to 90 days.

Documents

□ When Applying to Provide Child-raising Support
① Documents to Be Prepared by Inviter: copy of ID, Invitation Letter, Letter of Guarantee (guarantee period: 3 years from entry date), Pledge for Prevention of Illegal Stay or Employment, proof of residence (lease agreement, etc)
② Documents to Be Prepared by the Invitee: visa application form, passport, photo in a standard format, fee
③ Proof of Family Relation in Korea: Inviter’s Basic Certificate, Family Relation Certificate, Marriage Relation Certificate, copy of Resident Registration, Family Relation Certificate under the name of the inviter’s child (If the inviter is pregnant, Pregnancy Certificate or maternity note)
※ Inviters with two or more children must provide a Family Relation Certificate for each child.
④ Proof of Family Relation in Home Country: proof of family relation showing all immediate family members and siblings of the inviter (an official document issued by the government of the inviter’s home country)
※ When inviting family members other than parents, additional documents are required: a document proving both parents” inability to enter Korea, and a document showing the immediate family members of the invitee.
⑤ For Inviters with School-Age Children: Certificate of Enrollment of the child

□ When Applying to Provide Humanitarian Support
①-④ Same documents as listed in ① to ④ above
⑤ Proof of Critical Illness or Disability: Certificate of Disability, Medical Expense Receipt indicating a critical illness (critical incurable illness) or eligibility for differential copayments

※ The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.
