A person who plans to engage in a specific research at a college, undergraduate/graduate college established in accordance with Higher Education Act, or a college established in accordance with the Special Act
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are a person who plans to engage in research activities at an academic research institute, or a community college or above, established in accordance with the Higher Education Act or Special Act
You can apply for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months.
Periods of stay for this visa will be granted initially for up to 2 years.

① Visa Application Form (Form No. 17), passport, a photo in a standard format, fee
② A copy of Business Registration Certificate (or Registration Number Certificate) of a respective education institute
③ Documents proving your engagement in the research activities
④ Original copy of document indicating the final level of education (for those who earned master’s degree or higher)
⑤ Original copy of document proving your financial ability to support yourself (i.e. bank statement, a receipt of research allowance)
– When submitting a parent’s bank statement, family relation certificate is required to submit.
※ The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.
